Since 1938, Hazeldenes has been a leading name in the Australian poultry industry, built on a foundation of family heritage and a reputation as a trusted local business. Proudly supporting the Bendigo community, Hazeldenes stands as the largest employer in the region, providing jobs to over 1,000 local residents.

The Problem

Hazeldenes had an existing post and plastic chain pedestrian walkway system in operation at their Bendigo manufacturing plant. Over time this system had become unstable and the post footings unsecure and warped. The plastic chain was flimsy and not able to provide the required job of a permanent and sturdy handrail application.

The Solution

Our Barrier Group team visited site to inspect the locations that needed upgrading and to offer solutions on what may best suit Hazeldenes needs. It was quickly established that Barrier Group’s NoWeld Handrail and Guardrail would be a suitably matched product.

The Challenges

The initial challenge Hazeldene faced was finding a cohesive product that was flexible enough to adapt to the varying handrail and guardrail requirements throughout the facility. Once NoWeld was suggested it was apparent that its modular nature would be suited for straight runs of any length, could follow a curved path by using connector accessories and could create small sectioned of pathways entrances that would allow pedestrian access but deter larger vehicles from entering.

Client Response

Hazeldenes were so impressed with the versatility of the NoWeld Handrail and Guardrail system that two other areas of the factory were quickly added to the overall installation plan. There are also ongoing discussions to replace and upgrade other areas of the facility with the NoWeld system.
