What is a ram-raid bollard and where are they used?

Ram-raid bollards are designed specifically to prevent or deter intruders gaining access to your premises by driving a vehicle (usually stolen) through your locked factory roller door or glass shop front.

They should be spaced no more apart than 1.4 metres centre to centre, or from centre to the nearest structurally sound wall or structure. They are commonly used on shop fronts and industrial roller doors.
